Kate here! I’m so excited to share about this event we did back in September. This dinner was all about SISTERS.
We collaborated with Sister Katie, one of our all time favorite female owned clothing brands, to celebrate the launch of their fall / winter clothing line by hosting an intentional dinner all about sisterhood.
Seven real-life sets of sisters were our guests. Can we all agree that it’s kind of hard to get much cuter than that? We gathered at the home of Katie Roach, Sister Katie’s Founder, in Bronxville, NY.
This new Sister Katie collection is made up of chunky, extremely wearable, cozy knits, designed to be worn at work and at home. Every piece has the coolness of Scandinavia and the coziness of an upstate NY cabin.
For dinner, we feasted on an epic end of summer menu prepared by Dinner Party’s head lady Cami Jetta. She served a summer corn soup, and whole branzinos with roasted potatoes and market greens for the main course. For dessert, fresh fruit and rosewater-pistachio shortbread cookies. Everyone was more or less licking their fingers by the end of the meal.
The bowls we sipped our soup from, that also double as a plate, were provided by Soluca and designed by Anne Weber Callahan, both NYC locals. We wanted to design a tablescape that mimicked this Sister Katie line in both color palette and spirit — clean lines, soft blushes, plums, and creams.
Like we do at every Create Dinners event, we spend the end of our evening together going around the table answering conversation questions. This time, they were all about sisters. It was beautiful, tear-filled, and so sweet to hear all the answers to these and watch sisters connect and share things with each other.
This event was one of my personal all-time favorites to-date. If you’re feeling FOMO as you look at these images, I highly recommend doing some holiday shopping over at Sister Katie!
